2010 Express Winter Guard

Towards the end of December of 2009, the staff decided that Express should take the season off, due to financial concerns of its members.  Many were having to find additional work, while most wanted to return to school for additional education.  Some lost there jobs due to their companies downsizing or closing down all together.  We are already planning on returning to the floor for the 2011 season, and will begin getting together in mid-May.

We will keep the show that we had worked very hard to put together and looked forward to presenting.  We think the show would have really surprised many within the MCCGA Circuit.

The Express Winter Guard was originally founded at Northwest Missouri State University in December of 2000, and fielded its first winter guard during the 2001 MCCGA Season. The guard placed 4th out of  5 units that year.  The name Express was adopted late in the 2003 season, and was used from that point on.  Express seperated from NWMSU in 2006 due to Financial cutbacks at the school.  Beginning with the 2008 Edition, Express decided to become a Senior Winter Guard, which allowed many former and "aged out" members to return to the floor.  Soon, others that had aged out of either Drum Corps or Winter Guards joined us.  The guard has won the MCCGA Independent Regional A Championships in 2002, 2003 and 2006, and as the only guard in the division, holds the Independent World Division Championships in 2008 and 2009.

This year the Express Senior Winter Guard  enters its 10th season of competition, continuing to build a new kind of guard in the state of Missouri.  The Guard will once again field as an Independent World Guard both in MCCGA and WGI as required by the MCCGA Rulebook.  Express is  a place for anyone over the age of 21  who wants to continue or return to the performance floor.  We are first and foremost a place for members to come, spin, perform and just have fun.

Keep checking the Calender for updates.  Web site will be updated every Monday.
